Week 11

Lets get right to the socres:

Wolfens: 104.90
Butchers: 81.71

Dead Rabbits: 151.95
Fighting Marmots: 101.88

Da Ditkas: 165.79 (Ouch! I feel the pain)
Bus Drivers: 112.01 (The Bus got parked)

GridIrony: 117.63
Argonauts: 94.69 (Could have been a contender)

Skoal Bandits: 95.73
Sweetpea's Minions: 50.61

Now for some smacktalk to show you where the league is at concerning slams.
Da Ditkas: "You're about to drive in a wall named Da Ditkas." In reference to the game this week. You can see what happened. Last time The Bus Drivers narrowly defeated Da Ditkas.

The Bus Driver response: "Last time it was close, let's make sure it's not close this time...Loser."

Da Ditkas after results of the week 11 game: "Well we did what we said. It wasn't even close...Loser."
*As League-o-sphere said earlier: Ouch!*
A rivalry has been born. Da Ditkas versus The Bus Drivers. Considering the attitudes of these coaches it is sure to be a long and bloody season next year.

3 Questions answered: Sadly Colts lost to Dallas. New QB Tony Romo fueled a win against the Colts. Romo now has the highest passer rating in the league. Argonauts did not change their smacktalk. And no LT could not be held to less than 3 touchdowns.

N
ow for the best players of week 11:

WR: Lee Evans: 36.25 of Dead Rabbits

RB: Tomlinson: 35.95 of Da Ditkas (Will probably hold this spot from week 11 on.)

TE: L.J. Smith: 15.85 of Dead Rabbits

K: Jason Elam: 10.00 of The Bus Drivers

D: Jason Taylor: 28.50 of Da Ditkas

Week 10

A lot of things happened Week 10. I am excited to see how week 11 and 12 will turn out. Lets start with a little bit of smacktalk and smack review too...
"Time to get back on track." Skoal Bandits said this. The Bus Drivers that played them week 10 responded: "I stop for tracks, didn't happen to see yours." The result of the battle between them is listed below. Marmots declared: "Two weeks in a row over 150. The Marmot train is rolling and there's no stopping it!"
Da Ditkas counter: "Get a job, hippy! You'll need a fallback after I embarrass you!"
Well, the result of that match up proved it really is "You can't stop a Trane." Not "You can't stop a Marmot train."
Now on to the versus for this week:

The Bus drivers: 123.34
Skoal Bandits: 79.57

The Butchers: 130.15
Sweetpea's Minions: 86.59

Da Ditkas: 148.06
Fighting Marmots: 86.11

Dead Rabbits: 97.40
Argonauts: 92.09

GridIrony: 150.57
Wolfens: 67.92
Now for the best players of week 10. This week I listed a tie at Kicker.

QB: Phillip Rivers: 21.86 of Da Ditkas

WR: Chad Johnson: 36.00 of The Bus Drivers (Whoosh! A hit-and-run beatdown)

RB: LaDainian Tomlinson: 37.90 of Da Ditkas

TE: Marques Colston: 19.20 of Wolfens (Most receptions of a rookie in NFL history)

K: Jeff Wilkins/Shayne Graham: 12.00 of Dead Rabbits/GridIrony

D: Julius Peppers: 24.50 of Da Ditkas

The return of
3 Questions: Is Argonauts ever going to change their smacktalk? Will Dallas defeat Colts? (League-o-sphere votes: No.) Can LaDainian Tomlinson be held to less than 3 Touchdowns this week?

Around the League: Charges outgun Bengals: The Bengals ahead at half-time 28-7. But then Chargers battled back with 6 touchdowns. Tomlinson got 4 of them. Rivers threw for 337 yards and 3 scores. Carson Palmer's 440 yards and 3 touchdowns, was not enough to stop San Diego.
Bears defeat Giants: Chicago rookie Devin Hester caught a short field goal attempt and returned it 108 yards for a TD to tie an NFL record held by fellow teammate Nathan Vasher.
Indianapolis Colts: Still perfect at
9-0. Colts beat Buffalo Bills by only 1 point.
Colts are the only NFL team to start
9-0 in back-to-back seasons.

Running Wild:
Willie Parker rushed 213 yards-5 shy of a franchise record-and 2 touchdowns.
Frank Gore had a career high 159 rushing yards and also scored a Touchdown as Bizarro Niners defeated Detroit.
Mark Brunell has been repalced at QB.
Washington is in deep trouble this year.
Well that does it this week for Around the League. And for Week 10 too. Come back to check week 11 results...and to get another look at total win-loss counts in our league.
End Week 10.

Week 9

Lets get right to some smacktalking: Fighting Marmots: "Two weeks in a row over 150. The Marmot train is rolling and there's no stopping it!"
Da Ditkas: "Get a job hippy! You'll need a fallback after I embarrass you!"
Fighting Marmots and Da Ditkas play each other this week, as if that need to be said.

A number of players did an amazing job this week but only so many can get listed.
QB: Brees 24.73 of Argonauts.

WR: J. Walker 34.30 of Fighting Marmots.

RB: Tomlinson 30.60 of Da Ditkas.

TE: Gonzalez 20.15 of Fighting Marmots.

K: Shane Graham 10.00 of GridIrony

D: London Fletcher 27.75 of The Butchers

Now for week 9 standings:
The Butchers: 149.41
Skoal Bandits: 84.60

Dead Rabbits: 116.68
Wolfens: 101.48

GridIrony: 135.07
Sweetpea's Minions: 76.12

Fighting Marmots: 153.72
Bus Drivers: 96.05

Da Ditkas: 134.12
Argonauts: 86.21

The over all standings for the league are listed below. This is the closest the race for the playoffs have ever been for 2nd through 10th place. The top 6 make the playoffs. Dead Rabbits holds the top spot and has clinched a playoff spot week 9. The remaining 5 spots are up for grabs. Week 10 will be very important. Argonauts, playing to keep their playoff hopes alive. Skoal Bandits are 3-6 and they play The Bus Drivers, also 3-6. With 4 games left until the playoff spots are decided it is likely to be a rocky race on the road to these playoffs.
Below the standings are listed as: Team name, Win/Loss, (total fantasy points) and *special*

Dead Rabbits 8/1 (979.83) *So far DR's only loss is to Sweetpea's Minions.*

F. Marmots 6/3 (1,117.90) *2 consecutive weeks scoring over 150.*

GridIrony 5/4 (1,111.83) *8 consecutive weeks scoring over 100.*

Wolfens 5/4 (1,015.11) *Much stronger team than last year.*

The Butchers 5/4 (1,002.34) *Narrow defeat of Bus Drivers changed everything.*

Da Ditkas 5/4 (992.10) *Must play red-hot Marmots week 10.*

Skoal B. 3/6 (973.98) *Has lost 4 in a row...looking to end the slide.*

Bus Drivers 3/6 (918.14) *Plays Bandits. Driving goal: Improve to 4/6.*

Sp. Minions 3/6 (775.20) *Low fantasy points a serious problem...*

Argonauts 2/7 (874.38) *Working to escape 10th place, the dungeon.*

Now you know where the league stands.
Colts are the only unbeaten team in the NFL. Miami beat Chicago Bears. Gerrard gains starting job over Byron. Toomer out for the season. NYG is hit with numerous injuries on defense and offense and must play the Bears this week.
I'll have more NFL news in my week 10 post.
End week 9.

Wee8(special note, game update*)

The Bus Drivers did not beat The Butchers in week 8. A late point correction in Yahoo! revealed that The Butchers had managed to get a very narrow lead. Instead of a win The Bus Drivers went to 3-6. Week 9 shows the correct standings.
But to make sure it is listed more than once: The Butchers are 5-4 and
The Bus Drivers are 3-6.
Also point corrections came in for Dead Rabbits versus Sweetpea's Minions game but the additon to The Dead Rabbits score was not enough to lift them to a win against Minions. Dead Rabbits is 8-1 and Sweetpea's Minions are 3-6.

Now go click on week 9 to see the standing and best players. (*Week 8 post will remain unchanged as it represented the league, as accurately as possible, "correctly" at the time of that post.*)
